This Real Media protest video (29 minutes:44 seconds) was recorded in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. The protest event had actually begun that day in Dubuque, Iowa and had continued to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The Bush campaign has had a bus tour going through various parts of the United States and protests had occurred that have been fairly unreported for the most part.
The protest in this video that occurred in Lacrosse was probably around 300-500 people. It was completely unreported in the local Lacrosse newspaper. There were a number of people who were turned away or had their tickets taken away if they had a t-shirt that displayed "anti-Bush" slogans.
The Bush event was located pretty far away from where the designated protest area was. After the event began, marchers went through a section of the neighborhood and got as close as possible to the stadium where the Bush event was. After the event was over, the marchers returned to the protest area which was also an exit point for the Bush supporters.
There was a time where Bush supporters and protestors were pretty much in each others' faces. No arrests were made, but tempers certainly did flair. Some Bush supporters had ripped some of the protestor signs and in one case had yelled at a protestor who had a sign showing the number of dead US soldiers that those soldiers had "died for our freedom". If you have comments, additions, questions or other requests, feel free to do so.
